This is a 1982 Ambassador which has been modified in order to resemble the top of the range Vanden Plas.

The interior is standard for the HL trim, with velour seats, front headrests and colour keyed door panels and carpet. The non standard additions include a replacement radio and a clock which was not standard equipment on the early HL Ambassadors.
The Ambassador, unlike the Princess is equipped with an extremely versatile hatchback which allows extremely bulky loads to be carried without compromising the comfort of the interior passengers, even with the rear seats folded down.
As can be seen from the frontal view of this car, it has not got the standard HL model grille or bumpers. It has been uprated with chrome inset bumpers, a Vanden Plas chrome bonnet strip and higher specification grille.
The car is undergoing a process of rolling improvement, with more upgrades to the specification taking place as well as some minor renovations being conducted whilst the car is on the road and in daily use. The car is a fine example of how classic cars can be enjoyed and used regularly with little detriment to their condition.
